After almost three decades pursuing a career in the Biotech, I discovered the joys of painting watercolors. I have always had great interest in art but wasn’t until recent years that I had the opportunity to paint. I love watercolors because of its transparency, versatility, fluidity and most importantly the element of surprise. I love the challenges of watercolor medium as it offers infinite number of opportunities for experimentation and exploration. Finding a right balance between controlling the paint and allowing the water to take its course is what keeps me continually fascinated.
My first formal introduction to watercolors happened three years back when I took a watercolor workshop. It was truly unique to paint watercolors outdoors, a joyful portable medium that allowed me to record my visual impressions quickly and with natural freshness. In my paintings, my primary focus is on capturing the light and its ability to transform the ordinary to extraordinary. Most of my themes for paintings are landscapes, cityscapes that come from photographs and places traveled and my paintings are recordings of those inspired moments. I believe I found my true passion when I discovered watercolors. I hope you enjoy viewing my work as much as I enjoy the process of creating it.
