I came to painting by way of poetry. In the last 20 years writing has been embedded in the layers of fabric and collage papers and most recently, the subject of the paintings. The handwriting is symbolic of my love of words and language and an homage to poetry and not meant to be read in the paintings. Music and the Minnesota landscape have also strongly influenced my work. My paintings have been shown at the Triton Museum in statewide print and watercolor exhibitions, The Rourke Art Museum, shown at the Bay Area Annual and the West Coast Annual at the Sanchez Art Gallery in Pacifica. I have won awards including Best of Show at the Menlo Art League, Bronze Award at the California Watercolor Society's Annual and the Edward Dupont Memorial Award at the Louisianna Watercolor Society's Annual.
