Monoprints

I have been making art in one medium or another since I was very young. My formal training began when I was 13, in the famous Saturday morning Life Drawing class at the Art Studen't League in NYC. I continued exploring my passion for art , attending the HS of Music and Art and majoring in fine art at Hunter College.

Although I have worked in many different mediums over the years, my primary focus has been printmaking, specifically monotypes. I have found that monotypes are   particulary well suited to my passion for workiing representaionally and in a manner that emphasizes spontaneity, immediacy and invention. My primary interest is people, especially their innermost thoughts, feelings and emotions. These themes provide me with endless possibilities that I can express with color, line and form; all the imagery that has fascinated me most of my life.

My work is in several collections, both local and across the country. In 2010, I had two pieces included in the Triton Museum Statewide Drawing and Print Competition and Exhibition. My prints have been included in the Pacific Print show on two occasions. I am also a proud co-founder of Clean Slate Press, a cooperative printmaker's studio at Transport Street in Palo Alto.
