Printmaking
Cassandra
Gay is an artist and printmaker who
lives and works in Palo Alto, California. She began studying
painting in 1980 and her most recent work is in monotype
printmaking.
Cassie
has a B.A. from Goddard College and has studied art at
Foothill College, Palo Alto Adult Education, and the Pacific
Art League. She also has studied with Adele Seltzer
in her studio and Michael Mazur at the Fine Arts Workshop
in Provincetown, Massachusetts.
Her
work has been influenced by the paintings by
Georgia O'Keeffe, the monotypes by Nathan Oliveira and
the works of the Impressionists, and she finds her inspiration
in the beauty of the natural world.
Currently,
she is a teacher's aide and delights in helping her students
explore the creative process. She is also co-founder of
Clean Slate Press, a monotypist's consortium based
on a cooperative model, located at Palo Alto Studios.
