Printmaking

Cassandra Gay  is an artist and printmaker who lives and works in Palo Alto, California. She began studying painting in 1980 and her most recent work is in monotype printmaking.

Cassie has a B.A. from Goddard College and has studied art at Foothill College, Palo Alto Adult Education, and the Pacific Art League. She also has studied with Adele Seltzer in her studio and Michael Mazur at the Fine Arts Workshop in Provincetown, Massachusetts.

Her work has been influenced by the paintings by Georgia O'Keeffe, the monotypes by Nathan Oliveira and the works of the Impressionists, and she finds her inspiration in the beauty of the natural world.

Currently, she is a teacher's aide and delights in helping her students explore the creative process. She is also co-founder of Clean Slate Press, a monotypist's consortium based on a cooperative model, located at Palo Alto Studios.
