Ceramics

With color, shapes and memories of an imagined world I make shapes out of clay that are formed separately and fired in a kiln -- a few times some of them. Once the flame has wrought its magic (or havoc), creatures, houses, trees, odd shapes emerge transformed to find themselves floating, gliding, dancing in a Garden of Eden or peacefully contemplating the moon.

After a quarter of a century (unbelievable!) of working with porcelain, of making functional and smooth-surfaced pots, I'm enjoying making parts for a small world where for brief moments I am god creating an improbable universe.
