Media and Graphics
I
create mixed media figurative constructions incorporating
wood and found objects. I recycle old wood, sanding, carving
and staining it to create texture and pattern and applying found
materials to further enhance the surface. I like working with
recycled wood. The emergence of the grain upon sanding and
burnishing a piece of driftwood, an old roof shake or fenceboard
is exciting.
I love carving faces and hands, giving life to these constructions.
The work is an assemblage not only of materials but of thought
fragments accumulated daily - scraps found on the pathway
as well as in the storage place of my memory.
